Job Opportunities within the Harrington School of Communication and Media and GSLIS

1)  The Harrington School of Communication and Media is seeking two Graduate Research Assistants to assist the director with a variety of tasks including gathering information and report preparation.  These positions will require approximately six hours each week and will be compensated at a rate of $15 per hour.  Please email your resume to janice_hromi@mail.uri.edu by September 21, 2012.


2)  The Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, a department of the Harrington School of Communication and Media, is in need of two graduate students to assist in communicating the brand to prospective graduate students, current graduate students, community members, administration, faculty, and more!

The Graduate Brand Ambassadors will be responsible for becoming familiar with the graduate departments of Library and Information Studies, Communication Studies, English/Writing & Rhetoric.  They will be asked to evaluate how courses within each discipline might be successfully integrated into the other curricula and will maintain contact with accepted students while their decision to attend URI is pending.  Responsibilities will also include guiding tours, leading information sessions, representing the GSLIS department in the Student ALA meetings, and promoting the three graduate departments within the Harrington School of Communication and Media.

This position will require the successful candidates to be available approximately six hours each week and will earn a rate of $15 per hour.  Compensation will be paid in the form of a stipend at the end of each semester.
